Hit Broadway musical The Lion King is set to make its Bangkok debut in September.

If you’re anything like me and Circle of Life just started playing in your head, you know that Thailand is in for a treat.

The musical is being brought over by entertainment conglomerate BEC-Tero, the promoter that’s imported headline acts such as Elton John, Ed Sheeran, Maroon 5 and 50 Cent.

The musical will open Sept. 14 at the Muangthai Rachadalai Theatre at the Thailand Cultural Centre on Ratchadaphisek Road. Tickets range from THB1,500 to THB5,500 and are available online.

Adapted from the 1994 Walt Disney Animation Studios’ feature of the same name, The Lion King is Broadway’s third-longest-running show and the second-highest-grossing show in industry history, according to Forbes.

The musical has earned numerous awards and honor, including six Tony Awards, and features music by Elton John and lyricist Tim Rice.

The musical’s Bangkok debut will follow the release of the new live-action production of the movie scheduled for release on July 19.
