Hip hip bourée! Vivacious Bangkok’s International Dance Festival returns

Bangkok’s International Dance Festival will return in September. Prepare for two weeks of vibrant and exciting dance, musical, and full band orchestra performances.

Ballet classics such as “Cinderella,” “Le Corsaire,” and “Spartacus” will be performed by Russian ballet companies. Moreover, the world renowned Stuttgart Ballet from Germany will bring joy and laugher with their rendition of “The Taming of the Shrew.”

Accompanying the classics are the Antonio Andrade Flamenco Company’s exciting “Carmen,” mysterious “Torera,” and one of the greatest musicals, “West Side Story.” A contemporary ballet version of “Beauty and the Beast” will warm your heart.

On the musical side, the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra (SPO) and the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra (LNSO) will each be majestically performing some of the greatest classics: “Hungarian Rhapsody No 2 in C-sharp minor” and “Symphony No. 9 in E minor.” SPO will also feature the outstanding Lu Siqing, the first Asian winner of the Paganini International Violin Competition.

Rounding up the enjoyment comes the “World of Wonders” magic show by Peter Marvey and Flying Superkids acrobat troupe that will leave you astonished by their gravity-defying antics.
