COCO+ giveaway: Ari’s pole and aerial studio will have you feeling so fly and sassy at the same time

You might be in the same class as many Bangkokians and expats who’ve crossed things off the bucket list of Bangkok’s fun activities, whether it’s attending an indie movie screening, catching up with Broadway’s King of Musical in Bangkok, and swanky art exhibitions. What if we told you there was something else you could try…say pole dancing, and hanging from an aerial hammock and hoop?

Before you wax lyrical about pole dancing being a recreational activity reserved for women, it’s 2019, but also, we challenge anyone to pull off a successful ‘cartwheel dismount’ move. It’s best not to underestimate pole dancing because this niche and sassy sport requires both strength and flexibility — an equilibrium just as significant as yin and yang are to Chinese philosophy.

A three-minute amble from BTS Ari station (we promise you that we didn’t run), Fly Me to the Moon aerial studio is nestled on the fifth floor of Baan Yoswadi compound. It houses two studio spaces with standardized equipment such as professional-level poles, hammock silks, and sturdy aerial hoops, all imported from the US.

You’ll notice the playful ‘circus-on-the-moon’ theme throughout when you walk in. Fly Me to the Moon is also Thailand’s only studio to feature a silicone pole, making it easier to mount and spin around while wearing athletic clothing. Guess you’ll just have to make the trip to try it out!

The studio has been raved about by like-minded enthusiasts of this acrobatic art. Folks have been eager to sign up for classes that range from pole dancing to aerial hammock, aerial hoop, stretching, to jazz and contemporary dance classes — available for beginners to those at a more advanced level. On top of that, all classes are carefully run and supervised by trained professionals.

As Ari is home to niche spots like Josh Hotel (including its speakeasy The Key Room No. 72), Casa Lapin, and every hophead’s favorite beer joint, Mikkeller — Fly Me to the Moon is just another welcome addition to Ari’s already lengthy list of cool things to do.

We’re giving away a 10-class pass deal at Fly Me to the Moon which can be used to join any type of class — Pole Dance, Aerial Hammock, Aerial Hoop, Aerial Gym, Dance, Chairstage (Chair Dance), and Stretching.

So how do you win the giveaway?
