5 exciting ways to get an adrenaline rush in Ladprao

This Bangkok suburb sometimes gets a bad rap for traffic and floods, but hey, that pretty much describes our entire city. We’ve already provided the lowdown on why Ladprao is the lifestyle center of North Bangkok. Now, we’re here to tell you a little bit more about what life is like in this underrated ‘burb. And, yes, there’s a new condo involved. Stay with us though!

Ladprao is developing fast, but it’s still home to big parks like Wachirabenchatat Park, shopping paradises like Central Ladprao and Chatuchak aka JJ Market, and it’s about to become the city’s new transport hub. For real this time.

If you never leave a 5km radius from your own home (Sukhumvit snobs, we’re looking at you), then let us inspire you to make a (teeny tiny) trek to Ladprao, or if you really like this article, move there. Because an adrenaline rush awaits!

  1. Running in Wachirabenchatat Park
Green means ‘go’, guys. Run. And keep running because Ladprao is home to Bangkok’s second biggest green park. There’s a well-kept 3 kilometer track for running and biking. As fun as it is to bike on Bangkok roads (now there’s the real adrenaline rush), we’d have to recommend sticking to this bike path.

Occasionally, you might be treated to an extra thrill. Beware the komodo dragon-like monitor lizards (it’s a lot more satisfying to say their name in Thai) that lurk around the ponds in this park. That’ll teach you to stay on your toes.

  2. Bargain hunting, because even downtowners come to Ladprao to get their shop on

Hold your wallet tight. Just kidding, fork over that cash! Because Ladprao is a shopping mecca. This is a fair warning. You’re probably going to have a tough time containing yourself from going on a shopping spree, because why not — you are super close to JJ Market (clothes, food, or furniture if you’re into that), walking distance away from Union Mall (more clothes than you can wear in one lifetime), and Central Ladprao (the all-in-one mega-complex to shop, wine, dine, and catch a movie). You: But is shopping really an adrenaline rush, Coconuts? Well, you try walking away from a mid-year sale at Central Ladprao, or bargaining with a seller at Chatuchak. It’s an exercise in mental agility, and sometimes physical strength (dang Zara sales, get us every time).

  3. Getting wet and wild during rainy seasonWhat do Ladprao, Klong Toey market, Prakanong, and Bang Na have in common? Here’s a clue: it’s seasonal. That’s right — knee-deep flooding has been part of Bangkok since…forever (Google it if you don’t believe us) so rising rainwaters don’t surprise the locals. The waves just serve as a reminder to bring flip flops to work. (And any expats wondering why locals wear flip flops and not rubber boots definitely haven’t been here for a full earth’s rotation yet.)

Newcomers to Ladprao might be a bit nervous about getting their new Off White sneakers wet, but that’s a perfectly normal reaction. Ladprao dwellers will learn to weather the storm (and floods), but there is one adrenaline-inducing sweet spot where you won’t ever have to fear a flood…

  4. Climbing to the crest of Ladprao

Picture this: wall climbing high above the Bangkok skyline. It’s possible on the 44th floor of Life Ladprao Valley — oh yes, you read that correctly, this condo comes complete with a wall climbing gym.Chalk up hands and grip onto a mix of jugs, crimps, and pockets to fulfil your thirst for climbing exclusively at Ladprao’s most exciting and their highest of high-rises at Life Ladprao Valley. This challenging activity will push your limits higher (literally) and simultaneously provide a view over the neighborhood. Get an eyeful of JJ Market to west, Phaholyothin to the north, the infamous Ratchada to the east, and Ladprao to the south.

Instead of another overrated (and, let’s face it, overpriced) rooftop bar, there’s a modern, technology-infused fitness center in addition to the wall. There’s no compromise on the superior views too.

If climbing and gym time isn’t enough for an adrenaline junkie like you, then we’ll do you one better; bring in a coach at the private play zone (also with a great view, obvi) to practice yoga, muay thai, or whatever body combat training is in trend right now.

  5. Hitting the pool, all 700sqm of it

After a tiring climb, or intense HIIT workout (millenials do that, right?), bring your body to a state of equilibrium in Life Ladprao Valley’s three swimming pools that cover a combined space of 700sqm. The space is inspired by real beaches to offer genuine, yet highly Instagrammable, enjoyment — just no skinny dipping, please. One more element of the pool worth mentioning is the cave-like outdoor theater room. It’s large enough to fit your whole squad, or small enough to keep it cozy and intimate. Somewhat similar to a drive-in theater except that cars are replaced by lush, leafy trees filling the atmosphere with fresh air.

Want more adventure in your life? Make room with true work-life balance

Set your priorities straight. Like the old adage goes: work hard, play harder. To afford the adventurous lifestyle, you got to do the work, but that experience doesn’t have to be as bleak as it sounds.

Life Ladprao Valley actually wants to help you achieve work-life balance — yes, this condo is a sentient being that wants you to live your best life — by facilitating you with a deluxe co-working space and all-purpose library. Go ahead, make that Skype call, type up that report, and manage your clients, at work, at home, wherever.

Stay connected to your next exciting adventure

Ladprao is already well connected to downtown Bangkok and the vast expanse of suburbs from Nonthaburi to Nawamin, so locals can get in and out of Ladprao easily, when they want to, not because they have to.

In less than two years time Ladprao will house Thailand’s biggest train hub, the Bang Sue Grand Station, connecting you to even more adventurous journeys like a weekend in Chiang Mai, or jet skiing in Hua Hin. The freedom of traveling Thailand will be greatly improved, unless we have any BTS-like delay debacles (knock on wood). Imagining all the weekend trips outside Bangkok makes our heart pound faster already. The mega project is set to combine MRT, Airport Rail Link, and drum roll…high-speed trains.

Now, back to that awesome new condo. As soon as you step out of Life Ladprao Valley, you’ll find yourself at the Ladprao intersection, just a hop skip from Paholyothin MRT Station. There’s even a new BTS station directly in front of Life Ladprao Valley projected for 2019. If we’re lucky it will be here before the final season of Game of Thrones.
