This Thursday, a style-forward wine bar in the heart of Bangkok will host a gin tasting event featuring free-flow of a Portland-made distilled spirit owned by Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds.
Known among gin enthusiasts for its pronounced spice and slightly smoky flavor, Aviation Gin will be available at the one-hour Gin Table event – 8pm to 9pm – at The Bar Upstairs.
From 9pm onward, the drink will be served along an unspecified “premium” tonic for THB300.
Guests are invited to customize their own gin pour, with Bangkok-based importer Wine Pro on hand to help guests garnish their blend to find new favorites.
Spots should be reserved by emailing info@upstairsbkk.com. The Bar Upstairs is up Soi Sukhumvit 11 on the third floor of Brasserie Cordonnier, a short ride from BTS Nana.
Aviation Gin was founded in 2006 by distilling expert Christian Krogstad and bartender Ryan Magarian. It was first produced in Portland, Oregon, and uses seven botanicals for flavor: juniper, lavender, sweet and bitter orange peel, cardamom, coriander, Indian sarsaparilla and anise seed.
Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds announced he had acquired a sizeable stake in the brand last year.
