Be very aware of breasts when Hooters Silom serves up free drinks, snacks and live music Friday in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.
Yeah, you read that right. We are talking about the notorious American import that pairs greasy comfort food with male-gaze voyeurism holding a charity event.
This may just be the perfect and politically correct excuse to visit Hooters to celebrate the restaurant’s 36th birthday – yeah, it’s been around that long. The restaurant will give away an unspecified gift and a free drink until 10pm. There is one caveat to get a freebie: Customers have to wear pink. Because how else would they know you care about the cause, right?
The restaurant, located at Silom and Thaniya roads, is giving away pink drinks and tasting bites of their new Crispy Chicken Buckets, a breaded and fried chicken with a “secret recipe,” which yes, coming from Hooters, has a suggestive undertone.
Hooters Thailand said that throughout October, its stores are selling three pink-themed cocktails, with half of the proceeds going to the US Victory Over Cancer Foundation. They hope to raise half a million baht.
The event takes place from 7pm to 10pm on Friday. Don’t forget to wear pink!
Update: After this story was published, Hooters reached out with a change, saying it was a “free drink” rather than “free drinks.” Boo.

I doubt many people come to Thailand for political correctness but there’s something to be said for a free drink and some breasts. Enjoy

Not the kind of place I’d frequent, but why would *anyone* see being “politically correct” as a good thing to strive towards?
