A “hidden” cocktail bar with a photo booth theme has a new menu comprised of colorful film slides.

Over in expat-heavy Soi Sukhumvit 11, among the pandemic-era survivors struggling to thrive, Find the Photo Booth proves recently added 16 new signature drinks: eight classics and eight modern interpretations with Thai twists.

Old-school film photography factors into the fun, too. To see what’s on offer, patrons must grab film slides and drop them on a lightboard to be illuminated.

Drawing inspiration from the 1970s, the menu offers eight classics from the era — think Sex on the Beach (THB400), Singapore Sling (B430), Midori Sour (THB400), Grasshopper (THB400) — made with a lot more effort and care, not to mention better ingredients than your average disco drink. These all skew toward the dry end of the spectrum, with the sweetness toned down across the board.

For those modern drinks with Thai twists, they highlight Manee (THB430), a play on the margarita with Arquitecto blanco tequila, orange yogurt, coconut and cinnamon syrup and lemon; or the Jade Market (THB430), an in-your-face spin on the Midori Sour, with Sailor Jerry spiced rum, coriander root-infused Midori, pineapple and celery syrup, lime and a rye solution, which evokes the Ecto Cooler-green color of Thai cream soda but with a tangy, slightly herbaceous kick.

Some drinks come with playful ingredients, such as purplish Fighting Rooster (THB430) that brings together roselle-infused bourbon with corn milk syrup, lemon and egg white before the glass is topped with caramelized popcorn. The potent Mahanakhon Iced Tea (THB430) is made with VSOP cognac, Michter’s bourbon, Sailor Jerry spiced rum, cola syrup, milk punch, orange bitters and Thai tea.

Along with the new recipes launched, they are now offering a 5pm-to-8pm happy hour with negroni sold for THB220 while Hendrick’s G&T is THB250 – with no service or VAT charged.

The cocktail speakeasy is the brainchild of four partners – Hidetsugu Ueno, Colin Chia, Nick Wu and Ronnaporn “Nueng” Kanivichaporn. The bartender supergroup is also known for #FindtheLockerRoom, a bar hidden behind rows of locker cabinets.

Find the Photo Booth can be reached from a photo booth on the second floor of Score Bar in Soi Sukhumvit 11, which is a five-minute walk from BTS Nana.
