Food, Friends, Family: End the week with Italian Sunday brunch at da Vinci at Rembrandt Hotel Bangkok

If there’s anything that can make the weekend feel like it lasts forever–and keep that Sunday dread at bay–it’s a lazy diet-be-damned brunch. Better yet, eat like you’re in Italy and make every meal a cause to celebrate with friends and family. We have just the spot for it.

da Vinci Italian restaurant at Rembrandt Hotel Bangkok beckons anyone who appreciates their pasta al dente, and their pizza al forno, with their new Sunday Al Fresco Brunch.

We had the good fortune to dine at da Vinci recently. Let us walk you through every delizioso moment.

Our brunch started with a couple of refreshing bellinis as we looked out over the gorgeous Roman fountain. Ok, so it’s actually the hotel pool, but as we sipped our drinks, closed our eyes, and let the smells of an Italian kitchen waft around us, it wasn’t too hard to pretend.

Then the smorgasboard began!

Antipasto is the first course, so naturally we started there. We revved up our appetites at the cold cut station with Italian meats, salami, and a huge selection of cheese. Olives, pepperoncini, mushrooms, artichoke hearts, and other veggies in oil and vinegar were the perfect accompaniment.

We feasted on fresh salads like the crisp caesar with anchovy dressing and caprese with the classic duo of fruity, ripe tomatoes and mild, creamy mozzarella. We gave ourselves a pat on the back for managing to get in some greens, then promptly proceeded to hit up the barbeque station.

Plate after delectable plate, we dined, from live stations whipping up fresh pasta, to foie gras cooked to perfection. Spoonfuls of creamy risotto, slices of juicy roast beef and more.

Don’t worry about the kiddos getting what they love, because da Vinci dedicates an entire station just to the kids menu.

The one thing you should worry about? Saving room for the freshly baked pizzas straight from the brick oven.

The chef prepared their signature pie, Pizza Flambe, tableside. With its crispy, yet chewy dough, and the rich, tomato-y goodness of the sauce, topping of black olives and salty prosciutto, it was the ultimate Italian tastegasm.

Strategically, we saved room for dessert so we could try a bit of everything. Hey, when there’s ice cream, chocolate fondue, cakes, fresh fruits, and crepes (to name a few), you take your time.

Once we hit up all the five food groups (pasta, pizza, wine, espresso, and dessert, duh!) we were finally finito. It was back to people watching and bellinis for a while, until that pasta station was calling our name once more.
