Tourists may prize Bangkok for its tuk-tuks, temples and gem scams, but those who call it home have an affinity for drinking with a good view.
Eat and imbibe at the highest altitude possible without stepping on a plane at the Tron-cool Mahanakhon building, which has just opened the Mahanakhon Bangkok SkyBar on the 76th and 77th floors, making it the highest watering hole in all the realm.
“The eclectic, yet elevated nature of this oasis in the clouds mirrors the style that our team is known around the world for bringing to our work,” Tristan Auer of Wilson Associates’ Paris Atelier said in a Wednesday announcement. “Mahanakhon Bangkok SkyBar was designed to be equal parts welcoming and energetic, and we are honored to have been selected as the team to bring that vision to life.”
The brasserie offers Western and Asian dishes along with signature dishes created by Executive Chef Joshua Cameron, previously of New York’s Eleven Madison Park.
The venue is led by Johan Davidsson of Iron Fairies, Maggie Choo’s and Bangkok Betty fame.
Mahanakhon Bangkok SkyBar is open 5pm to 1am daily for dinner and drinks.
