Bangkok brunch is a competitive field. Almost every hotel in town offers some sort of indulgent end to the week. Luckily, we’re here to help you sort through this culinary clutter. That’s because we found a brunch that promises to be a little different (and bolder), and damn, does it deliver on that promise! Introducing the monthly Spanish Sunday Brunch by UNO MAS at Centara Grand at CentralWorld.
High up on the 54th floor of Centara Grand, UNO MAS is a sleek and sophisticated space that manages to stay surprisingly homey. With striking blue Spanish tiling, plush day beds ready for lounging, and a stunning view of Bangkok, you won’t want to leave. And from 11:30am – 2:30pm once a month you won’t have to. (And after such an indulgent brunch you might feel like you can’t move anyway, but it’s so worth it.)
The brunch spread features free flow G.H. Mumm No.1 pink Champagne, cocktails (Bloody Mary, Sangria and Margarita, to name but a few), Spanish wine, sherry and Estrella beer.
The buffet starts with a serious spread of chilled seafood. Indulge in every type of seafood you’d expect from an extravagant Sunday meal, and more: Maine Lobster, Rock Lobster, Phuket Lobster, Tiger Prawns, King Crab, Big Manila Clams, Langoustine and Brown Crab. Caviar choices include Avruga, Anchoviar, Salmon Roe. Top it off with Fine de Claire, Tsarskaya, Kumamoto and Murigan oysters. The list is just endless!
Just save room for the scallop ceviche, beef and lobster tartare, Oysters ‘Esquina’ and more from the Raw Bar and an extensive spread of bite-size tapas plates like tortilla and dry-aged beef.
Besides the high-quality seafood, and Spanish tapas, another defining characteristic of this opulent brunch is the a la carte menu. This menu includes four dishes from the sea and four dishes from the butcher, made to order and served piping hot to your table, complementing one another quite perfectly. Expect a tempting combination of authentic Spanish creations like Josper Oven Grilled Octopus ‘Galician’ Style and fusion plates like the Pan-seared Hokkaido Scallop with cauliflower puree ‘Arbequina extra virgin olive oil, caviar and ‘Joselito’ Iberico ham.
The Wild Mushroom and Main Lobster Paella features a succulent, grilled lobster on an aromatic bed of rice and mushrooms. Wagyu Short Ribs are served atop cauliflower puree, sauteed bak choy ‘al ajillo’ and gravy sauce, providing a mouthful of tender, meaty goodness.
In addition to the free flow drinks, huge buffet spread and extensive a la carte menu there are also four roaming trolleys spreading joy and deliciousness all around. It will be hard to say no when juicy prime Wagyu beef rib eye, steamed manila clams in Mediterranean herbs, crispy ‘Cochinillo’ suckling pig and thinly sliced Iberico ham each make their way to your table.
Oh, and don’t you dare say no to the trolley of delicious Manchego, blue cheese, camembert and other cheeses, served along with dried fruit and jams….mmmm.
If you thought you could stop there, think again. Just as your food coma-induced hallucinations start to convince you that you’re a real Spanish conquistador…snap out of it! It’s time for dessert!
The dessert selection at UNO MAS doesn’t disappoint – mini Churros dipped in milk chocolate, cheese tarts, cakes, puddings, juicy berries and chocolate truffles. Each dessert is made with the same care, high quality ingredients and attention to detail as the main courses.
We know, this brunch truly feels like a never ending culinary delight straight from the Spanish countryside – and there’s so much to choose from. That’s something pretty unique for Bangkok, don’t you think?
