Bastille Day might be slightly less exciting in Bangkok this year, but one chocolate cafe wants to help you celebrate France’s national day accordingly, even if at home.

Kad Kokoa, Sathorn’s tucked away, bean-to-bar chocolate cafe, announced that it will honor the occasion by serving a special Paris-Brest au chocolat. The wheel-shaped dessert will slightly buck tradition, featuring chocolate choux pastry, a chocolate cream filling and a pinch of crunchy cacao nibs.

“Traditionally it’s a classic choux pastry with cream filling and praliné, but everything’s better with chocolate so we made it chocolate,” Kad Kokoa wrote on its Facebook page.

Each Paris-Brest is THB200 and available to order via Line. The order can be made from now until July 18. Customers will receive their Gallic treat one week after their order is placed.

Bangkok is currently under pandemic restrictions that include an overnight curfew, limited travels and bans on dining-in until July 25.
