James Bond proves nobody does it better with this week’s movies

NATCHA ON FILM – “Spectre,” the new James Bond film and “The Gift,” a psychological thriller about an old high school friend are worth watching. The rest, “Bakuman” and “Tag” are Japanese films that are really only suitable for a niche target group. Meanwhile “Hacker” is probably a gamble because this genre can be quite unpredictable.

Spectre

The last James Bond movie I watched was Casino Royale so I’m not really a huge fan of the series.

“Spectre” is about a hidden message from Bond’s past that sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organization. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond slowly uncovers the terrible truth behind Spectre.

Bakuman

I imagine “Bakuman”, which is in Japanese, will be pretty hard to understand with its bad dubbing in theaters.

“Bakuman” is about a teenager who doesn’t want to be like his uncle who worked as a manga artist and eventually passed away due to exhaustion. He wants to work a normal office job but things change when he falls in love with a girl at school who happens to be a voice actress.
She tells him they can only get married if they both achieve their dreams. As a result, he teams up with his friend to create their very own manga.

Hacker

We’ve already had a pretty bad hacking related movie called “Blackhat” but this one should be better.

“Hacker” is about a computer hacker called Alex who learns how to rip-off credit cards, steal identities, hack ATMs, and eventually the stock market. He forms a team with two other people but things change after his mom is fired from her job at the bank and Alex seeks revenge on the financial institution.

The Vatican Tapes

I have lost count of the number of horror films released recently, and this one seems like an ordinary addition to the genre.

“The Vatican Tapes” is about a woman who is possessed and causes serious injury or death to whoever she comes in contact with. The Vatican is then called upon to exorcise the demon from her — typical exorcism movie plot.

Probably not worth watching because there’s a high chance you’ve already seen something similar.

TAG

Another film that’ll probably have bad dubbing.

“TAG” is a gore fest where the main character, Mitsuko, is followed by Death. She goes on a school trip which is also somehow interrupted by Death and mysterious forces. Just know that a lot of people will probably die in this movie.

If you like blood and gore, this might be the one for you.

The Gift

I really love psychological thrillers and I am excited about this movie.

“The Gift” is about an unexpected high school acquaintance showing up in the lives of a couple and bearing expensive gifts. The high school friend and the husband have a history and the wife soon learns about it after the unwanted visits and gifts.
