West Bali amps up ID checking after Lebaran

Lebaran travelers making their way back to Bali from Java via Gilimanuk can expect to get their IDs checked for real in the coming days.

Anticipating the wave of people coming over to Bali through the west coast port now that the Muslim Lebaran holiday has ended, Jembrana Regency will be intensifying its inspection of migrants coming to the area. So that means Javanese people working in Bali, especially, better make sure they’ve got their valid KTPs in hand when making the crossing!

The head of the Jembrana Office of Population and Civil Registration, I Ketut Wiaspada, told Tribun Bali that vigorous oversight will be supported by a joint operation of municipal and provincial police, as well as military.
