As Bali is a surfer’s paradise, the sports section of Coconuts Bali is unsurprisingly dominated by surf-related stories. From surf championships to the surfer who got attacked by a shark in Balian and survived, surfing stories regularly find their way into Bali sports news. Other than wave-riding, football (aka soccer) has got to be the biggest sport in Bali. The island’s main team, Bali United, is trying hard to be a big deal (with somewhat limited success) in the Indonesian football scene. Table tennis, badminton, and running also generate an adequate level of buzz in Bali.
