A South African national was reportedly arrested at Bali’s Ngurah Rai Airport after customs officers found some meth hidden in the woman’s underwear.

And it wasn’t just a little bit of meth tucked in there. OS, 27, had 1.1 kilograms of the drug packed in her underpants, according to reports.

The South African flew in from Qatar and landed in on Sunday evening.

“A luggage check was followed by a physical examination through an x-ray. The foreigner was found to have been storing methamphetamine in her underwear,” Tribun Bali quoted an unidentified police source as saying.

After customs found the drugs in the woman’s underwear, she was brought to BIMC for a full-body x-ray to determine whether she was storing even more drugs inside her body.

“Body x-ray results of the perpetrator came up clean, zero presence of drugs,” the police source said on Wednesday.

The South African has been submitted to Bali Police’s Narcotics Unit for further proceedings. Bali Police spokesman superintendent Heng Widjaja confirmed the arrest.

That means during the month of February, two foreign nationals were arrested at the airport for carrying in drugs. Other than the South African, a Malaysian was found earlier this month trying to conceal meth in a tissue.

Editor’s Note: It turns out that the South African national caught with meth in Bali is a woman, not a man. Local news sources initially reported the underwear-meth smuggler as a man, but have released follow-up reports stating otherwise. We have updated our story in light of this revelation.
