The 43-year-old primary school principal who was arrested for alleged statutory rape of his former student had threatened to broadcast his victim’s nude photos, police say, as their investigation has uncovered more details about the case.

“The photo was taken the first time the rape occurred, and then continued during junior high and high school. There were three photos that we found,” Badung Police Chief Roby Septiadi told reporters on Wednesday, as quoted by Detik.

The suspect, identified by his initials IWS, was arrested last month after the victim finally spoke up about the alleged rape. IWS first raped the victim when she was still in sixth grade, back in 2016. The rape went on until earlier this year in January with the victim now a 16-year-old high school student.

Police said that IWS had raped his victim at the school’s principal office, in his own bedroom, as well as several lodgings throughout the years.

“Based on our investigation there was definitely coercion due to it being a teacher-[student] relation. [There was] persuasion and threats of broadcasting the victim’s nude photos if the victim did not oblige to the suspect’s sexual desires,” Roby said.

IWS is charged with sexual abuse under Indonesia’s Child Protection Law, which carries a maximum sentence of 15 years’ imprisonment.
