Police thwart truckload of pot from being smuggled into Bali

A truck full of marijuana was stopped from entering Bali.

Badung Police’s Narcotics Investigation Division reportedly foiled a plot involving five packages of ganja, weighing 17.3 kilograms.

Before getting their hands on the marijuana, officers also secured 302.59 grams of meth, according to reports.

Police first caught dealer RM, 28, in South Denpasar on Saturday with the meth along with some marijuana: 576.85 grams of it, along with some leaves and seeds of the plant. From there, police found that RM was meant to get a shipment in of marijuana sent from Aceh, overland. The truck would enter Bali via Banyuwangi, East Java.

Officers reportedly intercepted the truck in Tabanan, Bali.

The truck’s driver, confessed to already running weed to Bali five times, police say.

“The truck driver was paid Rp 5 million each time he brought the goods from Banyuwangi to Denpasar,” Badung Narcotics Division Police Chief Insp. Djoko Hariadi said on Thursday, as quoted by Tribun Bali.
