In case you missed it, the body of a 22-year-old with stab wounds turned up yesterday on Jimbaran’s Uluwatu II, a very innocuous sort of place during the daytime.

Police have told the press that the deceased, Rolby Landa Muda, got into some sort of altercation with another driver while he had been riding his motorbike early on Wednesday morning, just past midnight.

South Kuta police chief I Made Murdra says the events that led to the NTT man’s death transpired when Rolby passed another driver.

“The root of the problem originated from the highway. The perpetrator was offended when passed by the victim. Because he was offended, he then chased him,” Mudra said on Wednesday, as quoted by Tribun Bali

Mudra says after some commotion, the perp stabbed Rolby, who collapsed and later died. He added that police are still investigating the events and are also trying to work with a number of witnesses. They found a 20 centimeter long blade at the scene as well as a jacket.

Though it seems to have been the road incident that set off the stabbing, police are questioning whether there had been a problem with Rolby and the perp beforehand and are exploring the possibility that the stabbing may have been planned.

The 22-year-old had just been at a birthday party on Tuesday night, two hours before his death.
