A French national is wanted by authorities in Bali, after he allegedly stole a laptop and damaged a homestay in Jimbaran.

According to the police, the incident occurred back on April 14, with the victim alleging that the foreigner, identified as DRC, had stolen their laptop. In addition, DRC also damaged items at the victim’s homestay, including a television, furniture, and antiques — all of which are worth around IDR50 million (US$3,438).

On the day of the incident, DRC reportedly went into the victim’s room on his own and took their laptop. When the victim arrived at the scene, DRC became furious and started ransacking the room, before he eventually left. The victim, who is in a relationship with DRC, then filed a report the next day.

South Kuta sub-precinct chief Yusak Agustinus Sooai said DRC is still in Bali.

“We are coordinating with police at the airport and harbor so that the perpetrator cannot leave Bali,” Yusak said.
