Going to Banyuwangi, East Java is now a whole lot more convenient to access from South Bali after a new fast boat service has opened.
Fast boat company Marina Srikandi is connecting Banyuwangi’s Boom Beach to Jimbaran as of Nov. 15, according to Antara.
This route is just two hours and saves a hike up to the main port city/Java-Bali crossing point of Gilimanuk.
“The new route is expected to promote and awaken the tourism in Banyuwangi. The fast boat also connects to other harbors in Benoa, Bali, and Lombok, which will automatically attract foreign tourists to Banyuwangi,” Mulyono Sugito, the owner of Marina Srikandi told Antara on Thursday.
This is just the latest news we’ve seen from Banyuwangi, as local authorities and investors attempt to carve out the city as a tourism destination.
Billions of rupiah are reportedly being pumped into an integrated port that will be built in the Boom Beach Area by the Banyuwangi Administration and Pelindo III, a project that should be able to accommodate 150 yachts.
According to Antara, you can get a one-way Banyuwangi-Jimbaran ticket for Rp 375,000.
