Man makes sate stop in Bali, Rp 110 million stolen from car as he eats

A man in Klungkung, Bali is probably deeply regretting a stop he made for sate after withdrawing a large sum of cash from the bank.

I Ketut Arkayasa, 35, says he took out Rp 110 million from a BCA bank on Monday in Banjarangkan Village and decided to get sate on the way home. Tragically for Aryasa, who apparently left the cash in his glove compartment, his Toyota Avanza was apparently broken into while he was eating at the sate kambing warung.

Arkayasa had planned on going to Gianyar after taking the money from Klungkung, but first wanted to meet a friend for lunch.

After finishing lunch about 30 minutes later, the man says he was shocked to see his car door open. He immediately checked the glove compartment to find the money gone.

Arkayasa immediately reported the theft to police.

Banjarangkan Police Chief Ni Luh Wirati confirmed the case on Monday to Tribun Bali

Wirati says police are still investigating the stolen money, that was apparently taken after someone pried Arkayasa’s car door open.
