Klungkung Criminal Police have finally apprehended a Klungkung man who allegedly sexually abused his 12-year-old niece.
Nengah S was arrested without resistance at his home in Selat, Klungkung on Thursday around 8 am, reports Tribun Bali.
The man, who works as a wood carver, has since been submitted to questioning by police investigators.
Rumors circulating about Nengah’s alleged abuse of his 12-year-old niece, YY, led to police investigating the case and then finally arresting Nengah.
YY says she has been sexually abused three times since October 2015. The first instance occurred in a rice paddy field, while the second two times where in a cowshed.
A physical exam has already been conducted on YY, indicating she has been sexually abused.
The Center of Women and Children’s Empowerment Services (P2TP2A) is providing assistance to YY and her family as the case proceeds.
