Without warning—no wind or rain—a huge tree was uprooted at Sanur’s Intaran Market on Thursday morning. The tree fell, reportedly injuring four women.
It was a busy time at the market, around 6:30am, when the tree went down.
Two of the victims were rushed to Denpasar’s Sanglah Hospital, while the other two were taken to Bali Royal Hospital.
“There are four injured. There was no wind, nothing. The tree just suddenly collapsed,” one of the victim’s family members, Komang Dodo, told Tribun Bali.
No further updates have yet been published about the victims’ conditions.
The tree is estimated to be over 100 years old, says Dodo.
