Heavy rain knocks trees onto Ubud’s Sangeh Temple

At least nine large trees have reportedly fallen onto Sangeh Temple in Ubud, apparently causing significant damage to the Balinese place of worship.

Heavy rainfall coming down on Tuesday seems to have knocked the big trees down.

“It happened around 3:30 pm yesterday, due to heavy rain,”  Sangeh tourism administrator Made Sumohon told Tribun Bali on Wednesday.

A full assessment of the damage has not yet been shared publicly.

Photos of the damage have been posted to Facebook, along with pleas to the community to ‘pray for Sangeh Temple’.
