Police are preaching road safety after a man riding a Harley Davidson was killed in a collision with a car in Denpasar, Bali early on Monday morning.
Nyoman Edi Pramana Wijaya, 25, had been driving to his friend’s home when he crashed with a car around 1:30am on Jl. Gatot Subroto Timur.
Wijaya reportedly died at the scene and his body was evacuated to Sanglah Hosptial shortly after.
Denpasar Traffic Police Commissioner Rahmawaty Ismail confirmed the accident and told reporters that police are investigating the crash and examining witnesses.
Reports have identified the driver of the car as TW, from Malang, East Java, but have yet to determine whether or not charges will be pressed.
Police have taken the opportunity to talk about safety on the road, cautioning the public to drive carefully.
“We appeal to road users to be more careful, especially at night. Safety is the main thing,” Ismail said, as quoted by Bali Post.
