An elementary school student was rushed to the hospital in Serangan, Denpasar after getting hit by a motorbike on Tuesday afternoon. But before the motorbike driver rushed off and fled the scene, he apparently ‘helped’ and threw money at the kid, who was thrashing in pain.

The girl, Selfiani Yuningsih who is in grade six, was rushed to Pedungan Health Center, then referred to Sanglah Hospital because of the severity of her injuries after the accident. The young girl’s leg was injured so badly that the bone was visible, says her father, Wayan Miasa.

Miasa, says the accident happened after school—Yuningsih was still in her school uniform—when she had been heading to her friend’s house on foot.

“She had just come home from school and was going to her friend’s house. On the road, she was suddenly hit by an unknown motorcyclist,” Miasa told Tribun Bali.

“It was a hit and run. My daughter did not know the number of the motorcycle plate. At the time (of the accident) I was at work. From what my daughter says, the perp threw Rp 100k at her, telling her to buy medicine.”

While Miasa is grateful that his daughter is going to be okay, he’s not surprisingly “disappointed” that the motorbike driver simply drove off.
