A huge fire broke out early this morning at the Denpasar Art Center.
The fire reportedly started around 3:30 am. It is believed to have originated at Senggol Market or at a stand where the 2016 Bali Arts Festival was set up. The fire quickly spread to a row of shops along the art center and on to Taman Budaya.
It was almost two hours before firefighters were able to extinguish the flames, according to Tribun Bali. The Denpasar Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) sent at least seven fire trucks, reporters observed.
The cause of the fire has not yet been confirmed, but there is speculation that an electrical short circuit could have caused it, according to Tribun. Investigations are ongoing.
