An earthquake measuring 4.9 out of East Java could be felt in parts of Bali in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The quake hit at 12:21 am, with the epicenter in the Indian Ocean: 51 kilometers southwest from the East Java city of Lumajang at a depth of 144 km, according to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).

Reports of people feeling the quake in Bali came out of Negara, Tabanan, Kuta, and Nusa Dua.

No tsunami warning was triggered from last night’s earthquake and potential for structural damage to buildings was minimal, according to BMKG. Residents of South Bali and East Java should remain calm, the agency says.
