Less than a week after the arrest of a civil servant in Bali’s Bangli regency for dealing and using drugs, another civil servant from Klungkung regency has reportedly been arrested for possessing 3.31 grams of shabu (crystal meth).

As reported by Tribun-Bali, Klungkung police yesterday confirmed that a drug dealer was arrested in Nusa Penida, and that police will hold a press conference regarding the case next Tuesday.

According to the report, the civil servant, identified by his initials IKD, was arrested on July 28 in Nusa Penida as he was allegedly about to sell drugs. Authorities caught him with six packets containing shabu, which he had hidden inside an empty packet of cigarettes.

Police later found more shabu in his home, along with IDR 4.2 million (USD 295) in cash.

Though this has yet to be confirmed by the police, IKD is believed to have worked as a civil servant in Klungkung’s Environmental Agency. Another drug dealer has reportedly been arrested in the district, as police are amid investigating drug trafficking cases in the area.

“We are still looking into this case to find the person who’s supplying this civil servant with shabu,” Dewa Gde Oka from the Klungkung Police said, as quoted by Nusa Bali.
