A Chinese national was found naked, laying face down in the bathroom of a Sanur villa on Monday morning.
Zhang Yang, 31, had been in Bali for the past week, working as a dive instructor.
Unable to get in touch with Yang for the past two days, friends and family started to worry. Two concerned companions of Yang contacted the villa, who found Yang’s room locked from the inside, so staff entered through the window.
“That’s when the victim was found lying on the bathroom floor,” South Denpasar Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit Insp. Bangkit Denanjaya told NusaBali on Monday.
Investigators found no signs of violence on Yang’s body, which was ultimately sent to Denpasar’s Sanglah Hospital for an autopsy.
“The victim allegedly was exhausted and fell in the bathroom. There was confirmed by no indication of violence or wounds or drugs at the site. But we will wait for the autopsy results to be sure,” Denanjaya said.
