Cash and smokes stolen from Tabanan Alfamart

An Alfamart employee realized when opening up shop that the convenience store had been broken into, after noticing that millions of rupiah were missing and cigarettes were taken from the shelves.

The thief apparently entered through the roof of the store then dismantled the CCTV in an Alfamart in Marga, Tabanan, Tribun Bali reports.

The Alfamart was a new one and had been operational for about just four months, according to Made Karna, 60, owner of a shop next to the broken-into convenience store.

Money and cigarettes taken reached Rp 7 million in value, an Alfamart employee told Tribun.

Police have opened an investigation and Marga Police Chief I Gede Surya Kusuma confirmed the incident.

When asked if the Alfamart break-in had any connection with two recent burglaries at Telkomsel outlets, also in Tabanan, Kusuma said he didn’t dare to jump to any conclusions.

Given the stolen rokok, it seems pretty likely that the thief is a smoker. Welp, that narrows it down.
