The Bali Mandara Toll Road will be closed for eight hours for a road race on Sept. 30.

The road will be blocked off from midnight until 8am on Sunday for the 2018 Mandiri Badung International Night Run, an event which is a part of the Nusa Dua Fiesta festival.

In the race, participants actually get to run on the toll road, which goes over the mangrove forests of Benoa Bay. There are full marathon, half marathon, 10K, 5K, and 3K race categories.

Some 3,000 runners are registered for the race.

“We fully support the 2018 MBINR activities and hopefully this event can be a pioneer for ‘sport tourism’ in Badung Regency,” Badung Regent I Nyoman Giri Prasta said on Tuesday, as quoted by NusaBali.
