It looks like Andrew Chan’s family is preparing to lose him, now that his “ailing” father has arrived in Bali for the death row prisoner’s impending execution.
Ken Chan visited Kerobokan Prison yesterday along with clergymen and other family members of both Chan and Myuran Sukumaran for emotional services, reports the Australian. It looks like the family is readying itself for the end of this ordeal.
Five church leaders reportedly prayed for both Bali Nine death row inmates with their families separately yesterday for 15 minutes. Dr. Ketut Siaga Waspada, the head of Bali’s Protestant churches was reportedly among the clergymen.
“They already repent and choose to do a very good thing,’’ Dr. Ketut Siaga Waspada told The Australian.
Here’s what Waspada says he told the Bali 9 prisoners: “You finish your life very well. You have done precious work — more than what I have done.”
Adding, “I told them you should not give up your hope, even if it looks very little.”
Sukumaran, known for his rehabilitation work with the prison’s art program gave Waspada a self-portrait as a parting gift.
According to reports, the two inmates gave the church leaders a grand tour of the prison and even showed them the classes they run in computers, cooking, printing, and jewelry. They apparently gave directions of how the classes should be run so they can be taken over if and when they are executed.
