Australian senior found dead in Sanur, allegedly from heart attack

An Australian man was found dead, lying naked in the bathroom at the accommodation where he was staying in Sanur.

Denpasar Police’s Criminal Unit Chief Insp. Bangkit Dananjaya said that 74-year-old Norris Arthur Berger was found at about 9 am on Sunday by a housekeeper who was cleaning the room.

According to housekeeper Ni Wayan Arminu, Berger did not usually lock his room. When the housekeeper knocked on the door and tried to reach Berger by phone and he didn’t answer, she went into the room and found him dead, police said.

“Around 11 am, we went to the scene. The witness knew that the victim was in the bathroom, lying facedown, naked. Yes, the victim was found without clothes on,” Dananjaya confirmed to Merdeka on Sunday.

Police said there was no indication of violence on Berger’s body. In his living room, various pills and medications were found like multivitamins, blood thinner, and denture cleaner.

“The victim allegedly died from a heart attack, based on the drugs that were found on the coffee table.”

Berger’s body has been taken to Sanglah Hospital in Denpasar for further examination.
