An Australian national identified by his initial F was arrested yesterday after reportedly creating a ruckus in Umalas. Bali Police said the foreigner injured himself, and had to be tied and given a sedative to be taken to a hospital.

“He said he goes to a psychiatrist in Australia to consult about getting to know himself. Up until now, he is still being treated at the Sanglah General Hospital in Denpasar [and] the situation is safe,” North Kuta Police Chief, I Dewa Putu Gede Anom Danujaya, told Kompas.com.

Anom explained that F climbed on top of the roof of a house in Umalas yesterday afternoon. Locals then apprehended and took him to the North Kuta police station.

F was reportedly injured from running and climbing, but had to be tied and given a sedative to be taken to the Sanglah General Hospital.

However, F reportedly told doctors that he did not remember having created a scene nor climbing anyone’s roof.

Police said F has since been released from custody.
