Kerobokan is busy AF, connecting Seminyak up to Canggu, so you can bet there’s always a traffic jam on the main road, no matter the time of day. Most famous for “Hotel K”, the nickname for the jail, Kerobokan is the overcrowded house of the bulk of Bali’s incarcerated. But hey, the town has its merits. Plenty of cool restaurants and cafes are scattered around Kerobokan, and many will find it as a more affordable place to live (could be something to do with the prime real estate by the jail). Also a redeeming quality, Kerobokan is home to some of the island’s best furniture workshops and stores. Gorgeous teak wood pieces for pretty affordable prices and that popular reclaimed boat wood furniture that’s typical of Bali villa decor can be haggled over here.
