Julio Iglesias cancels concert in Bali

Spanish singer, Julio Iglesias, has abruptly cancelled a concert in Bali.

The concert was set to take place at Peninsula Island, Nusa Dua on Nov. 12.

The show was called off just ten days before the event, according to the director of promoter company, Trans Event, Iko Wisprantoko.

“We are disappointed about the cancellation of Julio Iglesias’ concert. The news was given to us by Julio’s management ten days before the event. We were shocked, certainly many parties were disappointed,” Wisprantoko said in a press conference on Monday, as quoted by Kontan

He said that Iglesias’ team has not gone into much detail about why the show was cancelled, other than citing technical and logistical issues.

Actually, Igelasias’ management said the concert could be delayed until December 15-17, but promoters on the Bali side decided to pull the plug altogether, according to Wisprantoko.

It wasn’t anything personal against Bali—apparently Igelsias also cancelled shows in two New Zealand cities for the same “technical and logistical issues”.

Trans Event, says they will be refunding 100 percent of ticket sales, which will be handled by Cognitix, the concert’s official ticket partner.
