Another year, another Michelin Guide. So what’s new? Well, it looks like 2019 has made history by having two three-Michelin-starred restaurants on the list for the first time since the awards came to Singapore in 2016. Not to mention the fact that last year’s guide had a total of zero names on the three-star side since Joel Robuchon Restaurant shuttered.

Les Amis and Odette are the ones with the honor this year, the former a French eatery that’s been around since 1994, and the latter a French contemporary concept that landed on the World’s 50 Best Restaurants ranking this year at 18th spot.

Elsewhere on the guide, five establishments received two stars, with returning restaurants Shisen Hanten, Shoukouwa, and Waku Ghin placed alongside newcomers Saint Pierre (up from one star) and Zén (a new entrant).

The one-star distinction was awarded to 37 restaurants, including seven newcomers to the guide: Basque Kitchen by Aitor, Jag, Lerouy, Table65, Vianney Massot, Cheek Bistro, and Meta. That makes a total of 44 names in 2019, up from last year’s 39, plus 58 eateries on the Bib Gourmand list, which was revealed earlier this month.
